As I had written about last month, Solo Stove and WhistlePig Whiskey had teamed up to introduce a wheat whiskey for the Summer, CampStock. Solo Stove sent me one of their special edition “Campfire Bundles,” which included a bottle of CampStock Whiskey, to check out.

“Solo Stove x WhistlePig” Campfire Bundle
The Campfire bundle contains the following:
- CampStock Whiskey
- Limited Edition Mesa XL
- Solo Stove Etched Whiskey Glasses & Flame Ice Molds
- Whiskey Barrel Stave Mini Oak Firewood

I should note that the Campfire Bundle is no longer available from Solo Stove…but that doesn’t mean that you can’t still get everything that you can find in that bundle! The Mesa XL Whiskey Bundle has everything pictured above, except with a mulberry-colored Mesa XL tabletop firepit in lieu of the limited-edition WhistlePig-branded one. Additionally, the Mesa XL Whiskey Bundle includes a heat deflector and accessory kit for the Mesa XL, something not found in the Campfire Bundle. The Mesa XL Whiskey Bundle costs $329.99, and is available from Solo Stove.

Flame Ice Molds
The ice mold comes in two pieces, and recreates the signature Solo Stove flame logo in ice form. Simply fit the two pieces of the mold together, pour in water from the holes in the top of the mold, and freeze. What you get are some satisfyingly chonky pieces of ice that look great in the included etched whiskey glasses.

CampStock Whiskey
Of course, you need something to go with that distinctive ice, and that’s where the CampStock whiskey comes in. This wheat whiskey is a lovely amber color, and after tasting it, I’m going to use two adjectives I never thought I’d use with whiskey: light and refreshing. It is very smooth, especially on the rocks. WhistlePig has managed to distill a whiskey that really does seem like the perfect companion to a night outdoors by the fire.

Mesa XL and Whiskey Barrel Stave Mini Oak Firewood
Speaking of fire, the Mesa XL is perfect for any space, thanks to its convenient tabletop size. You’re not going to stay warm like you would with one of the larger fire pits Solo Stove makes such as the Bonfire, but it still provides a lovely, impressive flame.
The Mini Oak Firewood is made from the barrels that the CampStock whiskey was brewed in. They’re sized perfectly for the Mesa XL, and give off a lovely, sweet aroma while burning. I found that just a few of the staves created a robust flame, but that I needed to add fuel about every 10 minutes if I wanted to keep the fire stoked.

Solo Stove x WhistlePig Bundles
I’ve been very happy with my Campfire Bundle. The CampStock whiskey is a delight to drink, made even more so by the beautiful flames and delicious scent of the whiskey-soaked firewood. It’s been a great way for my girlfriend and I to relax on our front porch at the end of a long day.
Unfortunately, the particular bundle that Solo Stove sent me sold out very quickly. But not only is the Mesa XL Whiskey Bundle still available, but if you’re looking for a larger fire pit, you can alternately purchase a bundle with either the Bonfire or Yukon instead. And already have a fire pit? Then maybe the $120 Whiskey Savoring Kit is for you. No matter what, if you’re looking to enjoy some whiskey by an outdoor fire this summer, Solo Stove and WhistlePig have you covered.

Solo Stove sent a Campfire Bundle for evaluation, but had no input into this review.
