My Battle Heart Will Go on With the ‘Pokémon TCG’ Pikachu-EX Tin

Gaming Products Reviews Tabletop Games

As we close out 2016, a year that marked the 20th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, we reach an interesting crossroads. At once we look forward, most specifically at the impending release of the Pokémon Sun and Moon video games, yet we also continue to look back at 20 years of madcap Pocket Monster goodness.

Nintendo and The Pokémon Company International have both taken great pains to celebrate #Pokemon20 via multiple events, special distributions, and unique product releases, and there, at the heart of it all, has been Pikachu, the series’ de facto mascot. It’s only fitting, then, that the third and final release in the Pokémon TCG: Battle Heart Pokémon Tin collection features none other than the electric mouse himself.

Like the other Battle Heart tins, this comes complete with a special foil Pikachu-EX card (this particular Black Star Promo card boasts a mammoth 160-point Mega Thunderbolt attack), 4 Pokémon TCG booster packs, and a code card to unlock even more content for the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online. For my kids, though, the packaging itself is just as exciting as its contents. This sturdy tin case features a smiling, frolicking Pikachu, and it’s perfect for holding spare cards, your current working deck, counters, toys, or other collectibles.

The Pokémon TCG: Battle Heart Pikachu-EX Tin is sure to please the Pikachu fans in your family, and it also makes a great gift for Pokémaniacs of all stripes. It’s available now via the Pokémon Center, various online retailers, and likely your local big box as well.
