It’s a distinct pleasure to reveal the cover to George O’Connor’s latest installment of the Olympians series from First Second Books: Artemis: Goddess of the Hunt.

The Olympians series is O’Connor’s epic series about Greek mythology, currently at eight books–each focused on a specific god or goddess. It began in 2010 with Zeus, which also made the cut for our list of Essential First Second books. The series is an impressive display of sheer audacity in its storytelling, and it’s also First Second’s longest-running series.

Artemis, the next installment in the series, comes out this fall and focuses on the goddess of the hunt:

Shunned even before she was born and destined to live a life of solitude, Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt finds power through her skilled hunting ability and might bow. She slays those who wish to do harm to the innocent and takes care of the young and helpless. She protects women and young girls, helps in childbirth, soothes, and is unrivaled in her hunting abilities. In the latest volume of Olympians, New York Times bestselling author George O’Connor continues to turn his extensive knowledge of the original Greek myths into rip-roaring graphic novel storytelling.

  1. This series had completely passed me by. My son’s on huge Greek Myth phase at the moment, thanks to Rick Riordan, so I’ve ordered Zeus.

  2. I love how her pose and the cool colours make it complementary to the Apollo cover. This is such an excellent series, I can’t wait for Artemis.
