Acquisitions Incorporated Comes to Card Hunter

Just like a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, two great things, Acquisitions Incorporated and Card Hunterhave come together to form something awesome.

Acquisitions Incorporated is an extremely entertaining Dungeons & Dragons tabletop role-playing game played live over the past eight years in front of thousands of PAX attendees. The current band of adventurers includes the CEO of Acquisitions Incorporated, Omin Dran (a cleric played by Jerry Holkins), and the various employees including Binwin Bronzebottom (the hard-headed-tank dwarf played by Scott Kurtz), Jim Darkmagic (the wizard of questionable morals played by Mike Krahulik), and Viari (the swashbuckling rogue played by Patrick Rothfuss).

Card Hunter is an online collectible card game that blends together card play, deck-building, tactical combat, and classic fantasy role-playing. The game has a retro feel with imagery reminiscent of D&D‘s first edition. Players will be able to adventure as Acquisition Incorporated’s Omin Dran, Jim Darkmagic, and Binwin Bronzebottom in a series of modules written by Jerry Holkins. Card Hunter is free to play with in-game purchases available to speed up your progress.

How do you get this great content? “Acquisitions Inc. expands the Card Hunter campaign with three treasure hunts and three bonus adventures to challenge players. The new treasure hunts are revealed when you successfully raid the Viscous Tombs (level 10) or defeat the Goblins in the Woods (level 11). Alternatively, they will reveal immediately if you purchase the new AI bundle–which includes all six adventures, three new figures, and a month’s membership in the Card Hunter Club, all for the low price of $5.99.”

I’m not yet 10th level in Card Hunter. Since I don’t typically pay for content I could otherwise work towards, I have some work ahead of me before I can get to the Acquisitions Incorporated addition. Check out the trailer for the expansion below.

You can play for free, so check it out! Remember to take a break from playing and watch the next edition of the Acquisitions Incorporated live D&D game this Sunday, April 24th, 2016. The crew is playing at PAX East, but the game will be live-streamed on Twitch.
