We’re about a month away from Marvel Universe LIVE! coming to Portland, Oregon. Feld Entertainment is providing passes for me and my family to attend the show, in exchange for a few posts about the experience.
Once I confirmed with my wife that we’d all be able to attend the show (hey, if my family was busy I’d go see it myself!), I showed my kids the trailer and photos from the gallery. As I’ve mentioned before, my 2-year-old has become a big Marvel geek and could name a lot of the characters, although in some cases she didn’t recognize the outfits.
The storyline is “The Battle for the Cosmic Cube,” and features a whole host of characters from the Marvel Universe. The Avengers, Spider-Man, and Wolverine are pitted against a whole bunch of villains: Loki, the Red Skull, Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, and several others.

The stunts were designed by Andy Armstrong, the stunt coordinator for The Amazing Spider-Man, Thor, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. There are pyrotechnics, motorcycle stunts, and flying stunts. The show also uses projection mapping for special effects. I’ve always loved watching live stunt shows–growing up near Orlando, I got to see several at the various theme parks–but it’s been a while since I’ve seen one, and I’m really excited. This is going to be a long month!
