We seem to go through a lot of headphones in our house. With four people on computers at various times of the day, we have to keep the sound quiet to allow everyone to get their work done, and earbuds just don’t cut it most of the time. Kids can be hard on headphones, though, so several have come through our house over the years. This latest pair is a real winner, and though they won’t be mine, I am coveting them already.

Wicked Audio’s Sentinel headphones come complete with high fidelity sound and a wide range of sounds and music. They are lightweight and great for active people. This model also comes in three colors: black/cherry, gray/lime, and white/tangerine. Even though they are on the smaller side, they are adjustable, well-padded, durable, and extremely comfortable. They surprised me how comfortable they were. They look like they might be an on-ear type of headphone, but they actually go over my ears, which are fairly medium-sized.

How do they sound? When listening to music, they do a great job making you feel like you’re inside the music, like the sound is around you. You can still hear louder ambient sounds, so the headphones don’t isolate you, but that’s not always what you want, and not something you can expect from headphones at this price point. When I wore them listening to a Netflix movie on my computer, the audio was slightly echo-y, but it wasn’t distracting.

Specs:

Sold at the truly affordable price of $28.95, these headphones are great for active people who want to listen to their music (or, heck, an audiobook or podcast) on the go. They are also just as useful when sitting at your desk streaming music while you work, or when gaming.

If you’re looking for an affordable and very comfortable set of headphones, such as a pair for your teen, for someone who doesn’t require top-of-the-line gear, or as a secondary pair, Wicked Audio’s Sentinel headphones are a great option.

Note: I received a pair of these headphones for review purposes.
