Pseudonymous Bosch (that’s a pen name, by the way) wrote the Secret Series, a bestselling middle grade series about sense-based mysteries. And chocolate. I reviewed them back in 2011, and did an interview with the author at Wordstock. Well, Bosch is now back with a new series, Bad Magic.
I haven’t had a chance to read it myself yet, but my daughter grabbed my advance copy as soon as it arrived and plowed through it. She told me it was a fun read, and that it’s still set in the same world as the Secret Series, as there are characters who overlap in this book.
Thanks to Little, Brown, we’ve got an exclusive excerpt of the book for you, the first six chapters of the book. Click here to download the PDF. If you liked the Secret Series, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Bad Magic is just as full of footnotes, appendices, and snarky narrators as Bosch’s original series.
