Coinciding with Comic-Con International, this week’s We the Geek hangout focuses on real-life superpowers, including invisibility and super strength. Scientists and engineers will discuss some cool developments in materials science; you can watch live on WhiteHouse.gov and on the White House Google+ page on Friday, July 19, at 12:00 pm EDT.

The panelists include James Kakalios, author of The Physics of Superheroes; Nathan Landy, who’s working on an invisibility cloak; Zhenan Bao, researching self-healing and touch-sensitive synthetic skin; and Norman Wagner, researching on liquid armor.
