It’s hard to believe, but we’re now down to having only 11 days left before the world ends and the great zombie battle begins. Since the videos in last week’s post were so popular, I thought I’d throw a few more your way. Not only are they a great way to
waste time at work spend your breaks at work, they’re packed with good advice. The first two are from Rob Kutner, a clever guy who’s won Emmy Awards for his writing at the Jon Stewart Show and is now penning hilarious stuff for Conan O’Brien. Have you ever wondered what you’ll wear once the world ends? This fun little tutorial gives you some forward thinking options.
Let me say up front, I realize that at the end of these videos there is a little commercial for Rob’s book. There are two reasons why this doesn’t bother me. One, because it’s an excellent book and if you can afford overnight shipping (because you need it in your hands ASAP) you should order it today. It’s full of tips for surviving and then more tips for actually rebuilding the world. It may just become your new survival bible. The second reason is that I find these videos so entertaining and worth a peek that I figured you would too.
And what about a job to take you into the construction of the new world, once 2013 rolls around? Sure, there will be some immediate openings in the zombie carcass clean up field, but eventually that work will dry up (or be eaten by other zombies). You need a long term plan. Here’s a video to help you think ahead.
Okay, just one more. Mainly because I want you to not only survive, but thrive in the coming months. Once you’ve got a job lined up, and the appropriate clothing to wear, you’re going to need to be in decent shape, physically, to maintain your alive status. Here’s one more from Rob Kutner, with a few exercise suggestions. Just think of it as that recurring New Year’s resolution you continue to make (the one where you’re going to “get back into the best shape of your life…”), except this time if you fail the resolution you could end up dead.
Now let’s look at two more fun ones, to finish out the countdown post for today. My goal with this series is to get you prepared without freaking you out too much. Many of the apocalypse websites I’m finding are pretty grim, alarmist, and scary. If we GeekPeople are going to survive, we’re going to have to stay composed and retain our sense of humor. Agreed?
My son showed me this adorable little video a few weeks ago and it’s my favorite YouTube treasure since the day I found the honey badger. Full disclosure: The song is very catchy and will become an ear worm that you’re fighting the rest of the day. Don’t say you weren’t warned. It should serve as a reminder that there are many ways to die, not just a zombie bite. Use the information as you wish.
And then we have the classic Plants vs. Zombies song. If you’ve played the video game you might not be aware that there’s an awesome video that goes along with it.
That should be enough to hold you over for today. Stay tuned though, we still have 10 days left to be in the best shape possible. Hang in there with me. I know we can make it.
