Many Lord of the Rings Minifigs Revealed

Geek Culture

One of the more exciting stories to come out of 2011 was the announcement of the pairing of Lego and The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Since then, we’ve seen blurry photographs of packaging, illustrations of minifigs on posters but nothing in concrete … until now.

Tonight, Lego released photos of many of the minifigs that will be included in upcoming sets, including never-before-seen orcs, Ringwraiths, and Uruk-hai. They look exactly as you might imagine and one of the most exciting is an uniquely statured minifig of Gollum.

One can only imagine the hours that will be spent recreating Tolkien’s adventures with these minifigs. Unfortunately, we’ll all have to wait until this summer for them, but when they come out we’ll have hours of fun playing. (Don’t tell the elf.)

And as a special bonus, a creepy movie poster featuring Gollum:
