Here was the plan: I had a puzzle in mind since early in the week, it seemed easy, and so I thought great — wake up early on Monday and slap it together for a clean, clockwork post. Only, it didn’t work that way. I’ve been beating my head against this seemingly-simple puzzle for the last two hours.
Will you, dear reader, have better luck?
Here ’tis:
Arrange the following 16 letters in a 4×4, crossword-like grid so that all verticals and horizontals form words (you know, read left-to-right and top-to-bottom):
AABCDEHKLNOOORRZ
Hint: some but certainly not all of these words are things we’ve been called.
