Oh, Look! It’s Munchkin 7. Again? No, Wait. It’s a Completely Different Expansion!

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Munchkin is a really fun card game, but it can easily be improved by combining sets. Suddenly, you’re playing Kung-Fu Pirates or Space Zombies. Of course, there’s the occasional hiccup that has to be argued away by yelling, finger-pointing or coin-flipping, but now there’s an alternative to all that shouting and popcorn flicking: Munchkin 7 Cheat With Both Hands. This new expansion, coming out this month, contains 112 cards designed to make things more crazy … and a somewhat confusing name.

Cheat With Both Hands replaces both the Munchkin Blender and More Good Cards expansions. And while More Good Cards was originally the seventh expansion, Cheat With Both Hands is now the new seventh expansion, since the crazed lunatics at Steve Jackson were worried that people would be frustrated that they couldn’t ever find the seventh expansion in stock at their game shop if Cheat With Both Hands was called the eight expansion, since seven is taking the place of seven and this set will supersede … ahhh … um … just forget it. I think they named it this way just to give people something else to argue about.

Anyway, open the pack and you get the traditional brown-backed cards with great full-color artwork. There are plenty of rules and suggestions for use when you are combining with specific decks, when to use specific rules and how to solve other issues – enough to frustrate your game’s rules lawyer to the point of being a slobbering, eye-twitching mess and have the rest of you snickering at his frustration as you organize traps to throw his way.

There are more monsters, more potions and tons of more cheats. You’ll end up with some zany (yes, zany) combinations and lots of laughs. Some cards are ridiculously overpowered and some are just silly. (And sometimes, it’s the same card!) If the previous version was Munchkin Blender, this has to be Munchkin Blendtec. It’s a blast – if Munchkins are your thing, be sure to check out this expansion.

Munchkin 7 Cheat With Both Hands will be available later this month at your local game shop or Warehouse 23 for a suggested price of $19.99.
