Crowdfunding Tabletop Roundup

Crowdfunding Tabletop Roundup

Gaming Kickstarter Tabletop Games

Today I’ve got a number of ongoing and upcoming crowdfunding projects for tabletop games (plus a couple that already ended but are still open for late pledges in case you missed them).

New to Kickstarter? Check out our crowdfunding primer.

Mystic Curling Club from Asmadi Games

Here’s a dexterity game about flicking and sliding dice down the board, aiming for the center of the circles. The “mystic” part comes from the fact that you’re all witches, and you and your familiar have various abilities that will let you manipulate the dice like changing their values or even stacking them up. The artwork is really cute, and the dice are lovely pearlescent d12s.

Eternitium from Haumea Games

Time travelers race to reach the Eternitium gem in this deck-building game. Use your cards to portal past the different eras; building technology cards will set you back temporarily but (hopefully) give you an edge for the future. Eternitium was originally published in 2024 but this campaign includes options to get two small expansions (and I don’t think it’s been distributed in the US before now). I should be getting a copy for a more in-depth write-up soon!

Exceed: Seventh Cross from Level 99 Games

Way back in 2011, when I was still new to Kickstarter (and, in fact, board game publishers were just starting to dip their toes into the crowdfunding site), I wrote about a game called BattleCON, a 2-player card duel from Level 99 Games. It was quite successful, with several more expansions released over the years. In 2016, Level 99 launched another card duel system, Exceed, which is a bit sleeker and faster to play. It, too, has done really well, with expansions that include an official Street Fighter version. This latest campaign features all the characters from their Seventh Cross world that were published earlier, as well as two new Echo characters for existing fans.

Radiance from Gabe-Barrett

Last month I mentioned Mission: Drive from Gabe-Barrett, a solo game inspired by Spy Hunter. Well, it’s a new month, and Gabe-Barrett has another Solo Game of the Month. Radiance will be launching on Monday, but it looks like a fairly complex deck-building game. You choose a character and an occupation, which forms both your starting deck and your tableau of abilities, and then you seek out a boss to defeat before it accomplishes its plans, or you run out of health, or you spend all your light. There’s an overview video available if you want more details about it before launch!

Titan Dice from John Wrot!

John Wrot! has run a bunch of campaigns for fancy dice (including three for Mystery Dice that include all sorts of wacky dice). This campaign is for Titan Dice, enormous dice that have various things embedded in them. You’re probably not going to lug a whole set of these to game night, but you can get all of the various polyhedral dice or full sets, and they’re sure to make an impression on visitors (and, uh, on your table?). Although the campaign completed recently, you can still get in on late pledges.

Mystic Lands from AEG

Way back in 2016 I reviewed Mystic Vale, a card-crafting game by John D. Clair that used transparent cards that layered together to form interesting combos and effects. Over the next few years there were several expansions, including Conclave, which added a way to play with more people but less downtime. Mystic Lands is an all-new card-crafting game set in the same world, and it uses a completely redesigned crafting system that allows for many different layers—plus it looks gorgeous. I haven’t gotten a chance to play it yet, but I’m really excited to see what’s in store. Don’t delay, though—this campaign wraps up on Friday evening!

Vampire Survivors: The Board Game from Grey Fox Games

Here’s another project that ends soon—on Friday morning. Vampire Survivors is a roguelike videogame where you are surrounded by massive waves of enemies; as you defeat enemies, you gain experience that can be used to level up your character. There are a bunch of characters to unlock, each with their own abilities and types of weapons. Now, Grey Fox Games has turned that into a board game: the waves of enemies may not be as absurdly huge as in the videogame, but you still fight an endless onslaught until you die, level up, and try again.

River Market from Kids Table Board Gaming

Kids Table Board Gaming is known for great-looking games that are designed for the whole family—they’re kid-friendly, but they’re not just for kids. Creature Comforts, which Kickstarted back in 2020, has now spawned a couple more standalone games set in the same world of friendly animals. River Market features a rondel that players will build as the game progresses: players move around the rondel to select their actions as it continues to grow and expand.

Zeit Heist by Blue Rondo Games

I’m a sucker for time-travel games, so this one caught my eye—plus it’s a heist! Every player is trying to assemble a team to steal the priceless Zeitnium, but each team only works at a particular time of day. That’s fine, though, because card effects can change the handy time dial, too. I really like the style of artwork, too. I don’t know much about Blue Rondo Games, but this looks like a quick game with a fun theme.
