A couple of years back, I got to review the Soutien ergonomic office chair from FlexiSpot. As you can see from my review, it was a very comfortable chair, and really only had one problem: my girlfriend really liked the chair too, and claimed it for her office! The Soutien is no longer available, but FlexiSpot recently sent me their current top office chair to try out, the C7 Premium Ergonomic Office Chair. Let’s take a look!
The C7 Premium Ergonomic Office Chair is a highly-adjustable office chair designed for heights ranging from 5’3″ to 6’5″, and accommodates individuals weighing up to 300lbs. The chair is available in several frame/surface color combinations. The seat can either be chosen in mesh, which matches both the back and headrest of the C7, or in foam, which provides more support. There is also an optional attached footrest.
Retail prices for the C7 Premium Ergonomic Office Chair range from $689.99 to $749.99, and can be purchased at the FlexiSpot website. FlexiSpot is also currently having one of the biggest sales of the year, the FlexiSpot Brand Day Sale, which sees huge discounts on many of their products. As of this writing, the C7 chair could be purchased for as low as $329.99, depending on configuration. The Brand Day Sale is scheduled to run through May 31st, 2024.
FlexiSpot shipped me out a C7 Premium Ergonomic Office Chair in black and grey, with a foam seat and optional footrest. All of the parts of the chair arrived protected in foam and/or cardboard, and were in great shape. Here’s what all the components look like, laid out:
There is also a blister pack of bolts, which includes a hexkey and extra parts.
Assembling the chair took about 15 minutes, and was quite easy. Thankfully, the footrest is already integrated into the chair seat, so assembly ran quite similar to when I assembled the Soutien.
And here is the end result:
There are several points of adjustment on the C7 Premium Ergonomic Office Chair, to ensure a comfortable seating position. You can adjust the heights of the chair itself, the headrest, and the armrests. The 3D armrests can additionally be moved forwards and back, and rotated.
The lumbar support can be unlocked and adjusted to your spinal curvature:
If you have the optional footrest, you can manually pull it out and rotate the footrest into place. There is a handle under the seat that allows you to adjust how far you can recline the chair.
Finally, you can move the seat forwards and backwards, as well as adjust the seat tilt.
If you read my review of FlexiSpot’s Soutien office chair, you know I was already a fan of a mesh back and headrest. With summer at our doorstep, and having relocated to Sacramento, a chair that helps keep you cool is pretty much mandatory.
With the C7 Premium Ergonomic Office Chair, I’m getting a lot more than just a mesh backing. As I already mentioned, there’s a ton of adjustments that you can make with the chair. This allows you to tweak settings until you arrive at optimal comfort and bodily alignment. For someone like me who spends a good portion of their day in front of a computer, this is a godsend.
I’ll be honest, I don’t know how often I’ll actually be using the footrest. I’ve tried it out, and it’s very comfortable to put my feet up and recline. I imagine it’s a great way to listen to an audiobook in my office. I do wish that there was an automatic way to make the footrest deploy like when pulling the lever on a recliner, but I imagine this would have raised the cost of the chair and/or been unfeasible in an office chair.
I unfortunately still have the same issue with the armrests of the C7 that I did with the Soutien. They are a little too easy to move and rotate if you accidentally knock into them. Thankfully the height is adjusted by pulling a trigger on the underside of the armrest, so that at least will stay unchanged during a collision.
All in all, the C7 Premium Ergonomic Office Chair is a great upgrade to my current chair, and importantly, I no longer miss my Soutien chair that relocated to my girlfriend’s home office. Now I just need to make sure that she doesn’t run off with this one as well, as it’s a keeper!

FlexiSpot sent a chair for evaluation, but had no input into this review.
