Today, we chat with Wonder Woman. Well, Susan Eisenberg, to be exact. But if you’re a fan of the character, then Susan’s and Wonder Woman’s voices are pretty much one and the same.
She first donned the tiara in Justice League back in 2001 and has since reprised the role for Justice League: Unlimited, Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, Justice League: Doom, and the games DC Universe Online and Injustice. But she’s also much more than Wonder Woman. She’s provided voices for shows and games as diverse as Jackie Chan Adventures, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, Skylanders: Trap Team, and Skylanders: SuperChargers.
On this episode, we chat about the beginning of her career (and what led her to voiceover generally and Wonder Woman specifically), what she takes away from other actress’ portrayals of the character, how the popular conception of the character has changed, and what Wonder Woman means to her. We also chat about why male voice actors seem to have more opportunities to stretch their range, while women, generally speaking, have more roles similar to their natural voices.
