Come Game With GeekDad at the Southern-Fried Gameroom Expo

Two great things come together in Atlanta. Come and play some games with us June 10-12, 2016!

If you haven’t noticed, gaming is a huge part of GeekDad. We love board games, tabletop games, RPGs, video games, and more – especially when it involves spending time with families. That’s why we’re pleased to announce our partnership with the Southern-Fried Gameroom Expo (SFGE) in Atlanta. As an official sponsor of SFGE, we hope to bring our gaming expertise to their new board gaming programming track and see families come together and have fun this summer.

The Southern-Fried Gameroom Expo in Atlanta is a premier gaming convention in the Southeast featuring over 250 full-sized arcade games, pinball machines, and console systems set to free play for an entire weekend June 10-12, 2016! Now, after experiencing huge growth between its first and second shows, SFGE has doubled its convention space and expanded its programming offerings to include traditional tabletop gaming, opening the door for GeekDad to have a key role. As the board game sponsor, GeekDad will have contributors onsite to help with logistics, offer game demos, moderate panels, and contribute to the overall “GeekDad Tabletop Gaming Experience” at SFGE. GeekDad has a legacy of showcasing the gaming industry and we want to bring our influence and industry insight to help make SFGE a next-level gaming convention.

We want to use this opportunity to feature some new games, some tried-and-true classics, and give upstart game designers a platform to share their creations with a large audience. Are you a game designer? Interested in providing a game to add to our on-site library? Do you want to offer a demo session to get some eyes on your game? Would your game company be interested in vendor space to market to a game-starved Southern audience? Email board game track director and GeekDad core contributor Anthony Karcz at anthony@geekdad.com for more information.

In addition to the 24-hour game library available throughout the weekend and the quality programming from the GeekDad team, the Southern-Fried Gameroom Expo has more to offer than just tabletop. SFGE’s current guest list includes ’80s film icon and star of The Last Starfighter Lance Guest, Tron arcade game designer Bill Adams, Adult Swim’s senior games producer Chris Johnston, and musical act D&D Sluggers. Plus, SFGE’s 250+ arcade, pinball, and console gaming systems will be on hand in case you need a distraction from your meeples.

Be on the lookout for a major board game guest announcement soon and more updates about gaming with GeekDad at SFGE soon. We’re proud to be a part of the Southern-Fried Gameroom Expo and hope you’ll join us in Atlanta this June 10-12, 2016. Game on!
