Since my kids are getting to a point where they can read their own cards and reason, the new game additions in our house this year have been more family focused. These are games GeekMoms (and their families) played and fell in love with in 2013.

Dice Game: Roll For It
I love the new Calliope game Roll For It. It’s bright, easy to learn, kids can play it, adults like it, and it fits in my purse. This dice game, for up to four players, has each player rolling dice and matching them to dice pictured on cards for points. You can try the game online, or buy the hard copy for

Competitive Board Game: Fluxx The Board Game

Games We Wish Would Happen: My Little Pony: Fallout Equestria
My Little Pony: Fallout Equestria is a miniatures game with My Little Pony toys painted as Fallout characters. It is a mash-up fan-fic filled game that was always full at GameStorm in March. It. Was. AWESOME.

I completely agree w/ the nod to Pathfinder ACG. What a great amount of fun in that giant box. I’m looking forward to getting it to the table more often in 2014 and introducing my son to it at some point this year – I think he’s just about ready for something like this.
My brother-in-law received iota as a Christmas gift and we were surprised how enjoyable that tiny little package is. It’s definitely worth a look!
