If you’re anything like me, finding clothing for your kids decidedly frustrating experience. I want my son to look geeky, but stylish. And I’m perpetually tired by the boring, uninteresting clothing at most of my usual shopping haunts.

Thankfully, Etsy exists. And there, the beauty of geekery abounds, even in smaller sizes. Here’s a few particular shirts you might want to consider for spicing up your little one’s wardrobe.

From happyfamily, the Old School Microscope t-shirt, picture above. I love that this comes in both blue and lavender, suitable for any kid, really. Nothing says “science rocks” so well as this classic look! A very reasonable $14.

If you’re looking to go organic, and have a little more money to spend, you might want to go with this UFO themed shirt from dylanS. American Apparel shirt base, $24.

Got a little one as car-obsessed as mine? I love the design of this hand-painted Volkswagen bus t-shirt (also available as a onesie) from daisylouise (at left) who also have a plethora of other gorgeous shirts for kids, including one featuring Mr. T, Neil Diamond, and Charles Darwin!). Starting around $17.50.

And what summer outfit isn’t complete with a super hero cape, specially monogrammed for your son or daughter? I particularly like the look of these from seller superflykidz. They come in so many color options and styles, and have a really neat flow. Capes start at $12, and while you’re there don’t forget to get the super hero masks, too! A steal at $3.00.

The best part about the Etsy experience is knowing you support individual artists and craftspeople. In this day of mass-made everything, it feels so good to do precisely the opposite.
