MAGFest, the east coast’s own homegrown convention centered fully on gamer culture, has begun accepting room, event badge and volunteer registration for 2010. Though preliminary information is scarce, MAGFest 8 looks to once again pack an entire year’s worth of gaming merriment into one long weekend.

MAGFest is an annual event in the D.C. area dedicated to the celebration of video games and video game music. Each year features 24-hour console and PC game rooms, over ten live video game cover bands, and guest speakers from the video game industry. It also features a “Jamspace” available to all attendees for impromptu music performances. MAGFest 7 took place in January 2009, with over 1,300 attendees, and MAGFest 8 is scheduled for early January 2010.

MAGFest 8 is slated for January 1st through 4th, with admittance to the special New Year’s Eve party available only to pre-registrants. For its third year in a row, the festival will occur at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center in Alexandria, VA. Resplendent with industry professionals, non-stop PC and console gaming and, of course, ample game music performances, it will certainly prove to be an event not to be missed!
