My mom raised five kids as a single parent after divorce, went to the sports games and concerts, went to all the school conferences, fixed all the broken things, kissed all the scraped knees, paddled the bottoms, tucked us into bed, took care of all our needs, was proud of us, all while working one or two jobs. Mom escorted me down the aisle at my wedding.

I found a couple interesting reports to share. One piece allows you to interactively check on the level of female employment in science in various countries and fields of research worldwide. Another report shares information on a study that has implications for increasing female participation at scientific meetings. A third report makes similar points about the organization of scientific meetings and the perhaps unintended effects upon practicing researchers.
