  • Ravensburger has announced the upcoming release of Minecraft: Builders and Biomes. You can read more about it in my post from earlier this week.
  • Here’s something I never thought I’d be writing: Wendy’s, as in the fast food burger chain, has released a free RPG. No, you aren’t reading that incorrectly. Feast of Legends allows players to become characters in the world of Beef’s Keep. I’ll admit I only skimmed the free 97-page PDF rule book, but from what I saw the game seems entirely playable. The website even has pre-made character sheets and an online dice roller.
  • In more, uh, traditional news, the megahit Wingspan is getting an expansion. The Wingspan European Expansion adds European species to the game. It will be available for preorder from Stonemaier’s website beginning on November 6.
  • In other Wingspan news, Krikey, an Augmented Reality (AR) mobile gaming application, is partnering with the National Audubon Society to launch a location-based game based on Wingspan. Powered by Google Maps, the game allows users to move around their environment to find birds and add to their wildlife preserve and features the beautiful artwork from the game. You can view a trailer online, and the app is available from both the App Store and Google Play.
  • Overworld Games is rebranding and restrategizing its business. Now called Pull the Pin games, the company will now, according to a press release, only produce new games that “cost $19.99 USD and come in a box similar in size to Good Cop Bad Cop… and you will literally pull a ‘pin’ to open the box.” They have already relaunched their website and have several new titles coming to both Kickstarter and retail.
  • Space Chase is a cooperative escape-style game for 1-6 players coming later this year from Almost a Game. You can pre-order it now.
  • Cortex, the RPG system behind the Marvel, Battlestar Galactica, and Firefly RPGs has been acquired by Fandom, according to Tabletop News.
  • Feuerland’s new title Crystal Palace, a dice-placement game about the 1851 World’s Fair, will be released at Essen but is available for pre-order now.
