Geek Links: Side Pocket Gives Fanny Packs a Charge

The folks over at Ampere have a really interesting Kickstarter running right now that is getting a lot of attention. The product is called Side Pocket and it is the first fanny pack in the world that wirelessly charges your device while it is in the bag. I don’t know about you, but when I hear the term “fanny pack” it takes me back to the 1980s and 1990s. So does a fanny pack have a place in 2019? Having done a lot of international travel this year, I can say that there is a large adoption out there of a wide variety of carry bags. Looking over the design and specifications of the Side Pocket, I would say Ampere has a shot a bringing the fanny pack back. We will work on getting a full review of the Side Pocket published here on GeekDad as soon as review units become available. In the meantime, check out their Kickstarter campaign.
