I’d like to take a moment and thank those who attended our Gaming with Geek Dad event at Gen Con, and to thank the companies that generously donated games for us to give away. The event was a big success. Everyone there had a great time, got to learn some new games, and can now tell their sports friends that they have played on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium.
So much of the board game news this week is Gen Con-related, including lots and lots of new releases, but I’m going to leave that for our Gen Con recap post. Keep watching GeekDad.com over the next few days for that.

The proposed tariffs on board games are back on the table, although this time, the White House is proposing a 10% tariff rather than 25%. If enacting this time, it will go into effect in September, although as with everything trade-related these days, it’s too early to tell if it will happen.
Great Scott! Ravensburger’s Summer Blockbuster series, which began with last year’s Jurassic Park: Danger Zone and continued this year with Jaws, will get its next entry in the fall of 2020 with a Back to the Future title. Few details have been released as of yet, but we know it is planned as a dice rolling game. No word yet on whether or not it will include a plastic DeLorean mini, but I’m on the record already as saying how disappointed I’ll be if it doesn’t.
Wayfindersis what looks to be a very cool new game coming soon from Pandasaurus. Players build routes as explorers racing to chart newly discovered territories. The game features miniature planes and hangers.
Asmodee is launching yet another new venture. Unexpected Games is being described as “board game
studio centered around innovative design.” The first title from the new studio should be released in 2020.
Renegade Games unveiled the newest in the Clank! line at Gen Con: Clank! Legacy: Acquisitions Incorporated. As the name implies, it’s a legacy game set in the Clank! world. It’s due to hit shelves this fall.
Board Game Atlas is a new site that seeks to aggregate news, provide price comparisons and alerts, and include forums.
