Shadow′s path has moved on into the realm of the gods: his soul is to be measured, and he will decide what path to take. Of course, every moment in our life, and our death, is defined by such choosing.

Obviously all the Egyptian gods are waiting for him, helping him to cross the river, to get wherever he wants to get.

Meanwhile, his wife drinks water from the well of time, and, also, chooses a path, her final destination.

And the gods are coming.

I had forgotten about the location where the final battle will take place: Rock City.

Probably because I had never heard of Lookout Mountain before reading the novel: Neil loves weird and semi-abandoned places, strange tourist attractions and odd bits. That′s why we got scenes in The House on the Rock, why it was a location chosen for the television series and why I fell in love with the book.

I had been on The House on The Rock during a family trip and have never forgotten the experience: seeing that memory shared in an uncanny story full of ancient belies made feel part of it, and maybe we should all visit Rock City, just for the made-up memories Neil left there for us.

As in the novel, all the bits to close the plot are already in place, we only have to see the path to the very end.
