Featured Gaming Re-Roll Tabletop Games

The board game (and board game-related!) news that caught our attention for the week ending May 24, 2019.

Gaming News

  • The nominees of the German Game of the Year award have been announced. Check out our post today for the list of nominees. Nominee Wingspan is our featured image this week.
  • The UK Games Expo is happening next week, and our very own Robin Brooks has a preview of what you can expect.
  • UK-based Cubicle 7 has acquired the English license to Warhammer 4K Roleplay from Ulisses North American. Cubicle 7 already has the license for the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay and the upcoming Age of Sigmar roleplaying game, so this move puts all of Games Workshops’ roleplaying titles under one publisher.
  • Fans of Fantasy Flight’s Lord of the Rings: The Card Game who will also be attending GenCon will have the chance to play The Mines of Moria. Tickets are $30, and all but one of the events is already sold out, so hurry up and register now.
  • Also for those planning to attend GenCon, and really, for those who aren’t: you can buy official GenCon swag online. And artist Alayna Danner has posted her artwork, which will be used as the cover for the GenCon program, on her Twitter feed.
  • If you like The Elder Scrolls and if you feel like you don’t have quite enough miniatures on your “need to be painted” shelf, you’ll be happy to hear that Modiphius has announced the upcoming release of The Elder Scrolls: A Call to Armsa tabletop miniatures game.
  • The latest title in the ever-expanding Pandemic franchise is Pandemic: Rapid Response, a real-time cooperative game. Set to be released on June 23, it will initially be available exclusively at Target.
  • In one of the more unlikely licensing mash-ups of late, this fall will see the release of Dungeons & Dragons vs Rick and Morty. No, really.
