Gaming News
- Our very own Jonathan Liu’s game is now available! Button Shy Games has published The Boy Who Cried Wolf for what appears to be a limited print run.
- Fireside Games is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the classic tower defense game Castle Panic with the release of a Big Box edition that includes the base game and all three expansions and 12 promotional items that have been released over the years. The Big Box is due to be released in July.
- Plaid Hat Games has announced the pending release of Battlelands, a card game where players fight it out as creatures in a post-human world. The game is set in the world of Aftermath, a yet-to-be-released adventure book from Jerry Hawthorne, creator of Mice and Mystics. The game is due for release in July.
- GenCon teased this week on Twitter that the event catalog will be out “soon,” but one thing we know so far is that the annual Gaming with GeekDads event will be happening. Details to follow.
- Originally a Target exclusive, Visitor in Blackwood Grove is now available just about anywhere games are sold. The game was originally reviewed—and given the GeekDad Approved seal—by Jonathan Liu last year.
- Above Board, a new TV show about board games, is looking for audience members. If you live in LA or will be in the area May 1-3, you can apply for free tickets to the show by calling (747) 206-0964. Details on what to leave in the message can be found on the Dice Tower News site.
- USAopoly has announced a new partnership with Disney that will grant the company licensing rights to create and distribute Star Wars games in the European, Middle Eastern, and African regions. Their first planned game will be a “the initial Star Wars™ lineup will feature a light strategy tabletop game.”
- Direwolf Digital will be releasing Game of Thrones: Oathbreaker, a social deduction game now available for pre-order.
- WizKids and Paizo have entered into a partnership to produce miniatures based on Starfinder.
- As I’m sure our readers are already aware, today is Alien Day. Semi-unrelated is that Prodos Shops’ sale on Alien vs Predator miniatures ends in a few days.
