While the construction of the newest LEGOLAND is still in the earliest stages, information about the resort in Goshen, New York, is coming in. It is being built, block by block, just 60 miles from New York City. The new park will be the largest LEGOLAND yet, featuring eight themed lands, including The Factory (where everything appears to be made of LEGO bricks), Bricktopia (where visitors can work with real Master Model Builders), LEGO NINJAGO World, Heartlake City, Knights’ Kingdom (home of the LEGO Castle), LEGO City, Pirate Shores, and Miniland (a massive panorama of interactive, animated LEGO-built cities from across the country).
Exclusive to LEGOLAND New York is the Great LEGO Adventure!—this new ride puts visitors in the square plastic feet of a LEGO Minifigure as they travel through the manufacturing process, into a box, and into the hands of an anxious builder! Making its home in Knights’ Kingdom is a favorite ride from other resorts: The Dragon Coaster—not too big or scary, and perfectly sized to give kids their first roller coaster experience.

For those who may only be familiar with our indoor LEGOLAND Discovery Centers, a LEGOLAND Park is on a different scale altogether. This 150-acre theme park is a multi-day experience with more than 50 rides, shows and attractions—all designed for kids ages 2-12 and their families.

A LEGOLAND Hotel will also be a big part of the New York experience (if you have ever had the opportunity to stay at one of the existing hotels, you understand exactly what I mean). Guests will find a Castle play area, an interactive elevator (worth the cost of admission alone) and children’s entertainment every night.
Last week in lower Manhattan, a team from LEGOLAND New York Resort announced the availability of the “First to Play” pass, introduced the winners of its Kid Reporter Search, and unveiled a LEGO version of the Oculus transit hub at the World Trade Center. The 40,000 LEGO brick, three-foot-high Oculus model took Master Model Builders about 555 hours to design and build. This is the first LEGO model announced for installation as part of Miniland park in the LEGOLAND New York Resort.

LEGOLAND New York Resort introduced the team of Kid Reporters. Five lucky young journalists, ages 6-11, were chosen out of more than 450 entrants in a social media contest to cover the construction of the theme park and LEGOLAND Hotel from a kid’s perspective.
