Once Upon a Time in Hollywood – New Tarantino, this time taking on Hollywood’s golden age, in the late ’60s, with Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie coming along for the ride. Other notable cast members include Al Pacino, Bruce Dern, Dakota Fanning, Damian Lewis, and the late Luke Perry in his last film role. Once Upon a Time hits theaters this July.

Toy Story 4 – You can’t go wrong with new Disney/Pixar films, especially with the Pixar O.G., and one of the most consistent animated series’ ever; Toy Story. Toy Story 3 is going to be a tough film to follow, but the whole gang is back for one more ride this June.

Lucy in the Sky – Natalie Portman stars in a loosely based telling of the turbulent exploits of astronaut Lisa Nowak as she tries to ground herself in a love triangle that spirals into chaos. This is the first film from Noah Hawley, the visionary behind the FX series Legion.

Aladdin – There have been a lot of negative reactions to teasers for Disney’s live-action Aladdin remake, especially aimed at a somewhat lo-fi production style and Will Smith’s take on the Genie character made famous by Robin Williams. But here, in the first full trailer for the film, Aladdin presents as a much better-looking film than initially predicted. Will it be? We’ll see this May.

GKIDS Presents Studio Ghibli Fest 2019 – Fathom Events’ Ghibli Fest returns to theaters with the 15th anniversary of Howl’s Moving Castle, the 35th anniversary of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Whisper of the Heart, the 30th anniversary of Kiki’s Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro, The Secret World of Arrietty, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, and The Tale of Princess Kaguya.

Stranger Things Season 3 – It’s here. The season 3 trailer is everything a Stranger Things fan could want. Nostalgic! Season 3 is premiering on July 4th, so you better cancel your cookout plans and get ready to binge on the Hawkins crew instead of burgers and hot dogs this Independence Day.

Chernobyl – This HBO miniseries about the Chernobyl disaster looks to be one of 2019’s most interesting and thrilling. The almost mythical tragedy has become a timeless warning and legend all its own. Chernobyl will premiere on HBO on May 6th.

Good Omens – A series based on Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s comedy about the end times: Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch. Oh, and it stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen, and Gaiman himself wrote the six-part series and served as its showrunner. Catch it May 31st on Amazon Prime.

Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – The inevitable team-up of bat and turtle. Apparently, Shredder is working with both the League of Assassins and the Joker in a Mutation plot at Arkham Asylum. Sold!
