Cooler Master CK530 Keyboard and MM830 Mouse

Gaming Reviews Videogames

Cooler Master adds to its lineup of great peripherals with two new devices for gamers on the go (or at home) with their new CK-530 tenkeyless keyboard and the awesome MM830 mouse.

What are they?

The Cooler Master CK-530 is a mechanical keyboard without the ten-key number pad, making the profile a bit smaller and more portable than carrying around your full-size gaming setup, while the MM830 is a gaming mouse with up to 24,000 DPI and Omron switches, giving gamers a great weapon for long virtual battles.

The CK-530

The Tenkeyless keyboard CK-530 offers powerful keyboard use in a comfortably small form factor. Upon taking the CK-530 out of the package, you feel good construction and form factor. My first thought was, “I could take this with me anywhere.” For me, this is significant because I abhor laptop keyboards. The click of well-designed switches is preferred over the mushy inaccuracy. I may even go so far to put an adapter on my tablet so that I may use the CK-530 for ultra-portable situations. Though the Gateron switches are not of the highest quality, they are a massive leap forward compared to what is offered for gamers looking for something on the go or even just someone who wants to have a positive typing experience. The combination of plastic and aluminum also has a nice rigidity to the frame, making me comfortable thinking about throwing it in my backpack and heading out to a convention or a trip for a day or two. Like many of the other Cooler Master products, the LEDs are good and highly customizable. This allows users to add great style to the already fabulous functionality. In total, the CK-530 is another great peripheral that offers good value and function.

The MM830 Mouse

Mice have become increasingly refined over the years and what a gamer needs from their device is accuracy, durability, comfort, and flexibility. The MM830 offers all of these things in one package. Upon opening up the MM830 and gripping it for the first time, I could feel that it has good, sturdy construction, a nice grip, and weight to it.  My hand fits well to the claw-type layout of the MM830. Once the MM830 was plugged in, I went through the paces to see the difference in  DPI settings and speed. The MM830 is capable of attaining 24,000 DPI, which made shooting and targeting in games far more accurate and rapid. The button switches had a good response and sound click to them. The Omron switches are good for 20,000 clicks, so durability will not be an issue with the MM830.

Thoughts and Recommendation

I do my fair share of travel gaming, and my full-size mechanical keyboard does not fit into my backpack without sticking about an inch or two out of the top. I was looking for something portable but strong and stylish. The CK-530 is a small form 10 keyless keyboard that I look forward to taking with me on future trips and endeavors. It offers me everything I ask of it and more. Most importantly, it is durable enough to last a long period of sustained use, which can save having to purchase new devices every year. The MM830 is a mouse that will be used in every situation whether it be hardcore high-risk at home gaming on my main PC or on the go portable gaming on my laptop. Much like the CK-530, the MM830 has a level of construction and durability that gives the user confidence in any form they wish to use it for.

You can purchase a CK-530 on Amazon for the great price of $69.99.

The  MM830 gaming mouse will soon be available for approximately $80.00.
