Reviewing toys around this time of year is always extra fun. Especially when I open a big box retailer’s toy catalogue and find one of my review units front and center.
In this case, it’s Target showing off the X-Shot Bug Attack blaster. And I can see why.
The Bug Attack line is designed around a different mode of play than most blasters. Instead of shooting each other, the goal is to shoot flying bugs, launched from a motorized platform. I really like this aspect.
The included blasters are side-loading and they load easily. I’m still not a fan of Zuru’s included darts, but 3-d party darts with better balance are an option. let’s face it, the launcher is the main attraction and once you have that you can use it with any blaster.
Our launcher got a lot of use. Sadly, our first bug ended up on the roof pretty quickly, and another in a yard soon after that – but no worries – Zuru sells refills packs
What’s the final verdict on the Bug Attack sets? If your kid loves shooting things with their blasters, give them some safe moving targets. Grab the Bug Attack sets today.
Note: Zuru provided a 2-pack set for my review. Which I cannot find online at all!
