Look, I’m not saying 2019’s Pokémon: Detective Pikachu starring Deadpool‘s Ryan Reynolds and The Get Down‘s Justice Smith is going to be Oscar-worthy. I’m only saying that its buddy cop premise and strange, dreamlike Pokémon-in-the-real-world aesthetic seems freaky in the best way possible, and I am definitely going to watch it.
