New Collections From Puma and Adidas Bring Fandom to Your Feet

As a bona fide sneaker geek, I tend to buy more shoes than I—or, well, anybody—really needs. With the holidays coming up, I’ve been trying to tamp down on such wardrobe expenditures, but recent news from Puma and Adidas has me once again rushing to bust out my credit card.

Puma has teamed with Hasbro to leverage the visual style of one of GeekDad’s favorite franchises, The Transformers, as part of its RS-X sneaker line. The bold colors of the iconic Generation 1-era Transformers pair perfectly with the retro-future aesthetic already present in RS-X kicks—which are, in true Transformers fashion, a reboot of Puma’s 1980s Running System (RS-0) series.

These RS-X Puma x Transformers sneakers come in two colorways: Bumblebee in Quiet Shade/Cyber Yellow and Optimus Prime in Dazzling Blue /High Risk Red. Best of all, Puma has expanded the line to include track pants, tops, and tees, so you can rock an all-over Optimus look if you so choose.

Look for the Puma x Transformers collection in Men and Kid’s sizes exclusively at Foot Locker stores and online at PUMA.com next month, November 22nd, in Europe and mid-December here in the States.

Not to be outdone, Adidas has also unveiled its own collaboration with a beloved cartoon series, MTV’s Beavis and Butt-Head. The six-piece capsule collection from Adidas Skateboarding celebrates all that was right wrong about the 1990s with a specific focus on Beavis and Butt-Head’s unwitting employer, Burger World.

The Adidas x Beavis and Butthead footwear and apparel collection will include an exclusive 3MC sneaker, a fleece hoodie, lightweight jacket, t-shirts, and even a polo for you business-casual types. All will come lovingly emblazoned with the sneering mugs of your favorite Gen X slackers and bonus Burger World styling.

This collection will be available starting November 3, 2018, via the Adidas Skateboarding website and at the Adidas Skateboarding retailers worldwide. So whether your thing is ’80s cheese or ’90s sleaze, prepare to proudly wear your fandom on your sleeve, feet, and anywhere else you’d care to rep it.
