Bodaciously Awesome Family Show: Ripley’s Gatlinburg

BAFS Featured Podcasts

Summer Vacation is still here (for a little bit, anyway) and we’re still taking advantage of it! We’ve left Asheville (and the awesome Pinball Museum) and our Summer Vacation rages on! This week we head to Gatlinburg, TN, and visit a few attractions from the Ripley’s company. We head out to Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, Guinness Book of World Records Museum, and a miniature golf course.

On infuriating thing about tourist towns (like Gatlinburg) is the presence of way too many attractions to tackle. Each with their own ticket pricing. Ripley’s takes some of the panic out of filling your day by having a plethora of attractions in town. Plus, you can combine attendance to many of them in a single ticket. That allows you to see a good amount of things—without having to shell out the top price at each one.

We didn’t know what to really expect from their attractions, however. We had been to the museum in Orlando (years ago)—but never anything else. I really wasn’t expecting an Aquarium (in the middle of the mountains, no less) to be anything special. Happy to say—I was wrong. It was a fantastic trip. The entire family got into it!

NOTE: The Ripley’s company provided us with tickets to the attractions. All opinions are ours, however.
