The hardest part of raising the next generation of geeks is that I get crushed if they don’t like something that I cherished as a child. My oldest son doesn’t really like Star Wars. I still don’t really know how to process that (thankfully the my younger Padawan does!). Naturally, I was a little skeptical to let the older one read Ender’s Game. I wasn’t sure how I’d react if he didn’t like it. I’d probably ship him off to battle school!
Thankfully, he loved it (spoiler alert, I guess?). So, we didn’t stop with the book. I just couldn’t leave well enough alone. We went a further down the Ender rabbit hole as we also consumed the movie and listened to the audio drama (much, in a way, how he had read the book and then had seen the movie for Wrinkle In Time).
