Geek Links: 3 New ‘Pokémon’ Games Headed to Nintendo Switch

Featured Gaming Videogames

For those of us who’ve been longing for more Pokémon on the Nintendo Switch, last night’s Pokémon 2018 Video Game Press Conference was, in a word, astounding! Where do I even start?

Hey! Ho! Let’s Go!

Well, first and foremost, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!—a pair of titles around which the rumor mill has been swirling for some time—were revealed in honest.

Inspired by 1998’s Pokémon Yellow, both are designed for players taking their first tentative steps into the world of Pokémon. (Though I’m sure it’ll be a delightful nostalgia trip for us long-timers too!) But this return to the Kanto region isn’t a simple rehash; features like Pokémon GO integration, two-player co-op, and an innovative new Poké Ball-shaped motion controller, the Poké Ball Plus, promise to make this initial Switch outing something truly special when it launches this November.

A Blocky New Quest

If you simply can’t wait to get your Pokémon fix, a brand new free-to-start game is available now via the Switch eShop called Pokémon Quest. This Minecraft-inspired action title takes place on Tumblecube Island, where your team of three Pocket Monsters battle, evolve, and find treasure, all while maintaining a home base to lure in even more potential Pokémon partners.

Onward to 2019

And if, somehow, those two games aren’t enough to get you in the proper Pokémon spirit, a brand new core title was also teased for 2019.

You can watch the entire press event below for over 45 minutes of pure Pokémon bliss:
