The board game (and board game-related!) news that caught our attention for the week ending March 30, 2018.
- Codenames all the things! USAopoly announced they will be adapting the Harry Potter world to the very popular Codenames game later this year. The game, called Codenames: Harry Potter, will reportedly borrow gameplay from Codenames Duet (read our review).
- Munchkin all the things! USAopoly will also be applying the Harry Potter franchise to the longtime Steve Jackson staple. Munchkin Harry Potter will also be arriving in 2018.
- Have an RPG player in your life? Maybe it’s you? Circle October 23 on your calendar. On that day, Ten Speed Press will release Dungeons & Dragons: Art & Arcana, an authoritative art book. The 464-paged coffee table-sized book will feature a written history and more than 700 pieces of art from the history of the game.
- Speaking of RPGs, Monte Cook’s Invisible Sun is now sold out. So, if you missed out on the Black Cube‘s Kickstarter campaign, you’re going to have to wait a while for its second run.

- In a press release, Asmodee announced the formation of another division, Asmodee Entertainment. The subsidiary will be tasked with content like feature films, television, and comics. No word on if there be crossover to their tabletop titles.
- Star Wars: Legion will no doubt have a long product life, augmented by an endless number of expansions. The Star Wars universe is just that big. Some of the first were announced this past week. Everyone’s favorite scruffy-looking nerf herder gets to shoot first as the Rebellion’s third choice for commander. Additionally, a set of seven poncho-draped rebel commandos is available to sabotage Imperial plans. Get your brushes ready for when these sets arrive in Q3 of this year.
- Fireside Games announced a couple of games coming out this summer. The first, Remnants, is a post-apocalyptic survival game and comes from the team behind the amazing Between Two Cities (read our review). Look for it in late June. The other, Grackles, is an abstract strategy game about lining up birds on wires. You can find Grackles at Gen Con in early August.
- The Viticulture (read our review) expansion is officially official with a bunch of information. The new visitor cards can’t be played with other visitor cards, but the add-on will retail for just 20 bucks when it drops on June 1.
- We told you it was coming and Catan is now available in VR for both Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear, for everyone that wanted to play against floating heads!

- Lastly, Jonathan and I took a keen view into two Deep Water games on Kickstarter right now. Jonathan reviewed Round House, a long-playing Euro, and I reviewed Mystery of the Temples, a really good pick up and deliver game with some other mechanics in it.
