I wanted to capture my son’s reaction to Thor: Ragnarok after leaving the theater. I needed to. He was ecstatic. The movie is pumped with fun and adrenaline and he absorbed it all. He’s hitting the perfect age to experience the movies Marvel is putting out: adventurous and fun. The fact that I get to experience them with him is an added bonus.

So, what happened when I took the kid to see Thor: Ragnarok? Well, mostly we sang the Immigrant Song by Led Zepplin, and we had a great time. I even got to sneak in a horrible “dad joke.”

  1. I liked the movie, and thought it was pretty funny. But it was such a sharp departure from the normal tone of Thor movies that it gave me whiplash. They should have tried to ease into the out-and-out comedy style with “Thor 2” and “Age of Ultron.”

Still, I’m glad your kid liked it. 🙂

    1. I think you’re right. The tone of that franchise shifted too much. I liked it for what it was (and the kid loved it) but it didn’t fit with Thor or Thor 2 (which isn’t a horribly bad thing – as this movie was far more enjoyable than those two). It seemed more aligned with Guardians of the Galaxy than anything else in the MCU.

      Thanks for listening!
