Matthew Mercer and co. are back for a brand new Critical Role campaign beginning Thursday 11th January on Twitch and Alpha.
If, like me, you’ve been eagerly awaiting the next installment of Critical Role following the dramatic conclusion of episode 115 in the Vox Machina storyline, then the wait is almost over.
So Many Questions
Since mid-October, Critters have been desperately searching for clues as to what the new Critical Role campaign might bring and there are many questions yet to be answered:
What will the new party look like?
What characters will they all play?
Will any of the old cast of characters or favorite NPCs make an appearance?
Will any of them remember how to play?
Will their level one characters have as much trouble with doors as the previous party?
In the time since the last campaign finished, the Critical Role team has been keeping up the delivery of excellent content. Thursday nights have been filled with inventive and fun one-shots, with various members of the cast taking turns at DMing games, most memorably Marisha Ray’s turn with Trinket’s Honey Heist. The team also brought out the fantastic Tal’Dorei Critical Role Campaign Guide, to help fill the void left by Grog, Pike, Scanlan, et al.
But soon Thursday nights will once again be filled with Matthew Mercer taking on his role of Dungeon Master, leading the rest of the crew through the world of Exandria. With the only important question being: Is it Thursday Yet?
Critter Community Alight With Excitement
Fans of Critical Role, and there are lots of them, call themselves Critters and are some of the keenest, most avid fans out there. Over the past couple of weeks, the Geek and Sundry team has been teasing snippets of information and details about the new Critical Role campaign, releasing silhouette character images and teaser posters, leaving the community hungry for more. Facebook and Twitter have been alight with theories and conspiracies about what the new campaign will bring.
So whether you watch live or catch up later, be sure to join Matthew Mercer, Travis Willingham, Laura Bailey, Marisha Ray, Taliesin Jaffe, Liam O’Brien, Sam Riegel, and Ashley Johnson as they being the new Critical Role campaign.
