Okorafor, Lima Araújo and O’Halloran take us into the Muted Zones to find out about a monster that has already caused serious harm in Wakanda’s capital city.
Nnedi Okorafor is very interested on the Muted Zones, since “freedom means different things to different people,” and the Wakandans, being as advanced as they are, respect the need of part of their people to isolate.
T’challa will visit these zones in a spirit of non-confrontation, arriving on foot and thus showing respect, something his acolytes take the wrong way. However, there is not much time to waste, and the general impressions of this hacked-off-the-grid village must stay behind, because the monster awaits inside the jungle.
Covering the Muted Zones there is a stretch of wilderness, where things start to get ugly and mysterious. After a black panther attacks him, a new sense of the power of this nearly invisible monster will start to change young T’challa’s point of view… something is possessing these creatures, something evil, and it wants to destroy Black Panther himself.
