Featured Gaming Re-Roll Tabletop Games

The board game (and board game-related!) news that caught our attention for the week ending November 24, 2017.

  • Have you seen the list of GeekDad’s Game of the Year finalists? Of all the games we played and reviewed this year, here are our favorites!
  • This week’s image is in honor of the changing leaves. It’s Photosynthesis and it’s on our list of finalists!
  • One of the big announcements out of PAX Unplugged last weekend is that Rob Daviau will be lending his talents to a legacy version of Betrayal at House on the Hill. Look for this terrifying game, Betrayal Legacy, at the end of 2018.
  • Today officially kicks off holiday shopping and, if you’re looking for something unique and special, check out this D&D themed jewelry from LA-based jeweler Han Cholo.
  • And you may have some extra time on your hands as the year winds down. If you do, consider spending a day playing Twilight Imperium. The 4th edition is now out.
  • FFG Digital is already paying dividends. Imperial Assault now has a companion app to walk you through Legends of the Alliance.
  • If you’re clever enough to have already solved all Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective‘s tough cases, you’re in luck. Carlton House & Queen’s Park introduces ten new cases for you to riddle over. Look for it at the beginning of 2018.
  • Asmodee Digital has a number of new releases this week, all for Steam, Android, and iOS.
    • First, there’s an expansion to Mysterium, called Mysterium: Secrets & Lies Expansion, which brings new cards and mechanics–players can now unearth grudges and secrets.
    • Second, Ticket to Ride gets their UK expansion with trains and ferries throughout England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland.
    • Finally, the classic card game Mille Bornes comes to a byte-sized version. I am excited about this one; I grew up playing this racing game. It should be fun, but if you’re into Mille Bornes, check out this amazing Mad Max reskin!
  • Short and sweet this week–I have a turkey to go carve!
