Origins 2018 Announces True Dungeon Partnership Featuring Content From Patrick Rothfuss

Origins Game Fair 2018 Announcement

Did you think Gen Con was the only big tabletop gaming convention in the Midwest? You’d be wrong. Origins in Columbus, Ohio is right behind Gen Con in size and has many of the same vendors. I’ve been the past three years, though, sadly, this past June I got the flu the day of and after 6 hours had to collapse. I was legit down for 3 full days. I thought the con crud came after you attended. Silly me.

I can tell you that each year Origins is bigger and more impressive than the last. It appears 2018 will keep the trend going as GAMA just announced that True Dungeon will be back with a 3-year partnership. Not familiar with True Dungeon? Think of it as live-action dungeon crawling. Escape rooms on crack. And they just keep getting bigger and better.

In 2018 they will be doing their season grand finale at Origins. The finale includes the four adventures from the season based on the worlds of Patrick Rothfuss with new rooms added to each. There will also be two new adventures, “Moongate Maze” and “Dancing Among Stones” from The KingKiller Chronicles.

As if that isn’t enough, True Dungeon at Origins 2018 will have original tokens for participants at the end of their dungeon runs and other exclusive content that you won’t find at other conventions featuring True Dungeon.

If you haven’t yet been to Origins, I can’t encourage you enough to check it out. The Greater Columbus Convention Center is very well located. There are lots of hotels, restaurants, and bars within walking distance. Origins 2018 is June 13th – 17th. Pre-registration opened on November 15th, so get registered for one of the best tabletop gaming conventions in the world. Stop me and say hi if you do.

Samantha (aka Sam) lives in the midwest and likes it that way. She works at IBM and is the mother to one geekling. When not working she spends too much time playing games, watching television, or reading novels and not enough time cleaning. Don't get her started on the horror that is doing laundry.
