Coming in January, LEGO Creator Expert Downtown Diner!

Toys

Announced just today is the newest LEGO Creator Expert set, the Downtown Diner! With 1950s style and the usual Modular Building series removable building sections and attention to detail, you’ll want this 3-story building on your LEGO street.

The ground level has the diner complete with jukebox, soda dispensers, and eating counter. The waitress even has on roller skates! The middle level has a gym with a boxing ring, weights, and more. On the upper level, there’s a recording studio where your minifigs can record in the soundproofed room and then mix up all their tunes. Above that is a rooftop terrace with a skylight connecting to below. The whole set comes with a pink convertible car (of course) and features a sidewalk with mailbox, parking meter, and some of the usual LEGO features. Bring on the nostalgia!

The set is designed for ages 16+ and has 2480 pieces, which easily beats the informal 10 cents per piece rule we’ve set for ourselves, as it will cost $169.99. It also includes six minifigures: chef, waitress, boxer (with boxing gloves), bodybuilder, rock star, and manager. When built, it measures over 13″ high, 9″ wide, and 9″ deep.

It will be available for sale directly from LEGO beginning January 1, 2018. You can visit the LEGO Shop website, or order by phone (1-800-453-4652 in the U.S.).

The Downtown Diner set joins others in the LEGO Creator Expert Modular Building series, such as Parisian Restaurant, Detective’s Office, Brick Bank, and the one I covet the most, Assembly Square.
