Today, we’re getting psyched for the premiere of Big Hero 6: The Series with executive producers Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle. The series premieres on Disney XD and the Disney Channel on Monday, November 20, with a premiere movie–“Baymax Returns”–that’s set in the space between two scenes at the very end of the feature film. The series that will follow, which debuts in early 2018, will take place after the events of the film.
Schooley and McCorkle are certainly no strangers to the world of animation and Disney. They are the co-creators of Kim Possible and worked together on Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, Hercules: The Series, Aladdin: The Return of Jafar, The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride, and many others. They also worked for DreamWorks on Penguins of Madagascar and Monsters vs. Aliens.
On this episode, we talk about working at Sesame Place, bringing Big Hero 6 to the small screen, doing the impossible and getting almost the entire original cast to return, and creating shows with true cross-generational appeal.
