Trailer Theater: Mini Matt Damon, Quirky Dogs and More

Movies Trailer Theater

On this week’s edition of Trailer Theater we have something for everyone; tiny Matt Damon, new Wes Anderson, punishing vigilante justice and the Radiohead/Hans Zimmer team-up we’ve all been clamoring for.

Coming soon to a theater near you…

Annihilation – The teaser for Alex Garland’s (Ex Machina) adaptation of the first book in Jeff VanderMeer’s Southern Reach Trilogy delivers some great looking sci-fi. Check it out when it hits theaters in February 2018.

Downsizing – Alexander Payne directs the adult version of Honey I Shrunk the Kids. Looking forward to checking out tiny Matt Damon and Kristen Wiig this December.

Isle of Dogs – Wes Anderson is a master of style and cute stories with incredible, deep rosters of acting talent. In his latest animated film, he seems to do it once more. Coming in March of 2018.

Wonderstruck – The latest from Todd Haynes, an adaptation of Brian Selznick’s generation jumping novel about love, loss and adolescence hits theaters on October 20th.

Tomb Raider – Alicia Vikander takes over the role of Lara Croft in this latest adaptation of the popular video game series. The trailer makes it looks much closer to the latest games in the series than the originals. Check it out in March 2018.

The Disaster Artist – If you have not yet seen the masterfully terrible film, The Room, go and see it now, and then check out this behind the scenes accounting of the most famous bad movie ever made when it hits theaters this December.

The Shape of Water – A Guillermo del Toro take on the Beauty and the Beast story. What more do you need to know?! Coming this December.

Coming soon to a TV or streaming device near you…

The Punisher – Finally! The brutal comic comes to Netflix. When? No clue yet, as the trailer (which features a perfect Metallica soundtrack) has the date redacted.

Blue Planet II – The first Blue Planet was great, as were both parts of the Planet Earth series, but this one features new music collaborations from Hans Zimmer and Radiohead! Coming to BBC One later this month.
