The board game (and board game-related!) news that caught our attention for the week ending October 20, 2017.

- I guess this is another calm before the storm–there’s not much news this week, but Spiel Essen is next week and there’s sure to be a lot to come out of that show. Are you going? If so, let us know what you’re most interested in playing!

- Probably the biggest news of the week, Wiz Kids has proudly heralded a partnership with Games Workshop. Under the agreement, Wiz Kids will create new board and dice games set in the 40K universe and republish Fury of Dracula and Relic.
- Fantasy Flight announces the fifth Force Pack for Star Wars: The Card Game. This one includes 60 cards, five new objective sets, and a new version of some guy who lived in exile on Tatooine.
- FFG also soon be offering Destiny Draft Packs, a new (one-time buy) that, when combined with boosters, presents a new way of playing.
- Z-Man has a mini-expansion for A Feast for Odin that offers two new exploration boards. These are completely opposite ends of the planet, one in Tierra del Fuego, the others in the Orkney Islands and Lofoten, Norway.
- That’s not enough new Uwe, you say? Well, Fields of Arle also gets an expansion. Tea & Trade offers a lot and after three cups, you’ll be bouncing in your seat, ready to play.
- Asmodee Digital teased this Catan-based text adventure. Wait, wut?
- Additionally, get up to 70% off all Asmodee Digital games from October 19-22 during their Autumn Sale. Good for mobile, tablet, and PC games.
- Back to Fantasy Flight, they published a preview of the narrative in their upcoming “cooperative narrative” game, Legacy of Dragonholt.
- Making their way to shelves next week, just three notable titles I saw:
- One of my all time favorite games, Animal Upon Animal, gets a new version called Stacking Memory. However, unlike the wooden tokens, this one features discs and a flexible medial temporal lobe.
- Two really great games from Renegade make it to shelves next week too. Clank! In! Space! and Ex Libris. One is your favorite deck-building adventure game, but on a spaceship. The other is a set collecting game with powers and has some of the funniest book titles you’ll ever read. Both are great and both will see reviews from us very, very soon.
