Meet Cynder: Felicia Day Enrolls at ‘Skylanders Academy’

Entertainment Geek Culture Television

The first season of Skylanders Academy on Netflix was a genuine surprise. My kids, being fans of the games and toys, saw it pop up on Netflix one day and started watching. From the first episode, they LOVED it. So, granted, a 6- and8-year-old might not be the best judge of quality, but the episodes I watched with them were surprisingly entertaining! The writing is sharp, the animation is remarkably well done, and it actually tells a fairly compelling story. You can imagine my relief when I discovered that it’s not just an elaborate commercial for the games.

Season 2 of the show premieres on Netflix tomorrow, October 6, and brings a couple new voices to the show. Joining the ranks are Felicia Day as Cynder and Grey Griffin as Sprocket. That’s on top of the existing cast, which includes Justin Long (Spyro), Jonathan Banks (Eruptor), Ashley Tisdale (Stealth Elf), Jonny Rees (Jet-Vac), Bobcat Goldthwait (Pop Fizz), Norm Macdonald (Glumshanks), Catherine O’Hara (Kaossandra), Parker Posey (Dreamcatcher), and Susan Sarandon (Golden Queen)! Whew!

In anticipation of the second season, we’re thrilled to bring you an exclusive clip of Felicia Day’s new character in the show. Enjoy!
