As you might recall, I published a glowing review of Western Digital’s My Cloud Home storage solution last week. This is a fabulous device for protecting your whole family’s data, and making it available when and where they need it, with special features like Time Machine compatibility and on-device video encoding for streaming your own content. As I write this, I have one of my favorite albums playing via Plex on my XBox One which, if I wanted to take it with me, can now act as a media playback for my entire library of audio, video, and photos, all safety stored at home on my My Cloud Home.
My Macbook is saving files in the background right now, and all the photos on my phone have also been saved. On top of that, my son who is at college 2,000 miles from home has his data safety stored to our My Cloud Home, so if anything ever happens to his computer there, he can recover. It’s pretty substantial piece of mind.

I so need one of these! Last year my computer’s hard drive literally fried itself and even the Geek’s at that consumer electronic store could NOT fix it. I lost literally YEARS of Photos and Music and I was devastated. Something like this would definitely give me some peace of mind!
