I love comic conventions. I mean, who doesn’t want to rub elbows with fellow fans and the creators of the comic books they love. Sadly, many conventions are over-crowded, leading to literal elbow-rubbing. You don’t want your convention experience to be sad and empty either. The trick is finding a middle ground. After attending the last few New Jersey Comic Expos, I can happily say they are an almost textbook example of a good size convention. There are enough interesting creators and vendors, but enough room to walk around.
This year, the NJCE will be on Saturday, November 18th, and Sunday, November 19th, at the New Jersey Convention and Expo Center. With 37 days till launch, the guest list still looks a bit thin compared to past years. But in past years NJCE spent the days to the convention counting down via new guests each day. I’m guessing you can count on that (pun intended, I am a monster). Last year I was able to sit and chat with several pros (after first paying for a print or signing; I am not a monster). The atmosphere is far more casual than most cons.
As in the past, we will be giving away pairs of tickets. This time, it’s three pairs. I’ll be picking the winner via random number generator. A friendly note: Anyone seen to have entered more than once will have all entries deleted, not just the duplicates. I’ll on Friday, October 20th.
