  1. It’s a shame that I still haven’t seen this one. I borrowed it from the library, but it turned out to be a pretty hectic week. And I couldn’t it.

  2. My daughter saw Ponyo and loved it, she has now seen many more of Hiyao Miyazaki’s movies, even though they are in Japanese she watches them many times over. It would be great to see one dubbed.

  3. I think it was Princess Mononoke with friends at the $2 second run movie theater when I was in high school.

  4. My first memories of seeing a Hayao Miyazaki film was indeed Castle in the Sky when I was in 4th grade! I was obsessed with the soundtrack and spent hours trying to play it on the piano, it was the first time when I actually was eager to play myself and not forced to practice (albeit not the songs my teacher gave me), my mother was quite pleased.

I am told I saw Totoro earlier than that, but I can’t recall. I do recalling watching Totoro and Kiki in middle school and again in high school w my friends.

  5. I believe I saw Spirited Away first, if not Princess Mononoke, but Spirited Away sticks out in my mind more. I recall buying it on vhs from a pawn shop and falling in love immediately. My interest only grew from there for Miyazaki films and I’ll always be a fan. Castle in the Sky is one of my all time favorites and I love seeing 2D films on the big screen any chance I get! Here’s hoping! Thanks!
