Kyle and Derek Sullivan’s Latest Book – ‘Get Dressed, Sasquatch!’

Books Reviews

The Sullivan brothers successfully Kickstarted their last book, Monster ABC, which I reviewed, and we loved so much we even dedicated a podcast episode to it. Not ones to rest on their laurels, they have self-published a new book, Get Dressed, Sasquatch!

Get Dressed, Sasquatch! is very much a product of the Pacific Northwest. Set in a beautiful forest, it features a ranger, a bear, and, of course, a Sasquatch! The basic premise of the story, without giving anything away, is that the park ranger has been tasked with getting Sasquatch dressed, because it can’t be nude. What ensues is a fun dress-up romp that shows Sasquatch putting on a dress and a police officer uniform along with a few other outfits. My son loves wearing dresses as much as he loves wearing Star Wars t-shirts, and having a character in a book who can wear anything without anybody being negative about it was great to see!

Two of my other favorite things about the book are the bear, who is a perfect secondary character to Sasquatch with a bunch of cute background lines, and the call backs to their first book, Monster ABC. In their previous book, Sasquatch lives in the nude, which obviously inspired this entire book, but there is also a shout out to Hobgoblins, one of our favorite creatures from the previous book (as evidenced by the title of our podcast episode covering said book).

The art is fun and the story is too, so grab yourself a copy of Get Dressed, Sasquatch!. You won’t be disappointed!

Note: The Sullivan brothers sent me a copy of the book for review purposes but all thoughts and opinions above are my own.
